A contract is the first form of protection against all forms of exploitation, undeclared work, unpredictability and lack of employment, as well as a legal instrument necessary to rethink the taxation of professions in contemporary art. AWI is working in collaboration with the lawyer Alessandra Donati towards the definition of three types of contract that can be used by art workers when dealing with collaborations with a variety of different subjects and entities. In addition to filling a legal gap, the proposal also holds a profound cultural value, as a fundamental first step towards adequate social recognition of the people that operate in the sector and their work.
